Case Study - OutlookFSBO [ www.outlookfsbo.com ]

Outlook Mortgage, a Houston real estate and mortgage company, wanted to create a web site where individual homeowners could post their For Sale By Owner (FSBO) homes on the Internet. They needed a site that would all users to create an account, add their real estate listing(s), upload images of the property, add details about the property, edit it as needed and generally gave the end user full control over display of the listing. They also wanted a backend management system for their own personnel to use to manage listing and user accounts.

After initial meetings with the client to discuss site needs and gather a list of the data they wanted to allow users create and update, we presented them with a statement of work (SOW) and timeline. The site was created using Dreamweaver MX and runs on a Cold Fusion MX Server along with a Microsoft SQL Server for storing and retrieving information. Users create and manage their own accounts, with little or no management required by Outlook Mortgage staff. Each listing can show all data normally associated with real estate as well allows for an unlimited number of photos to be uploaded to the server.

Time to build this site was one month, including revisions to meet the customers requirements. The project came in one before due date.
